APTA chooses Xpan

March 27, 2007

Calgary, AB (March 27, 2007) - The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) has chosen Calgary-based Xpan Interactive Ltd. (Xpan) to develop the first computer-based blended training program for the association, which represents more than 90 per cent of transit properties in North America.

The success of this project is critical to future rail training programs and related training and development resources. Xpan was chosen because of their expertise in the development of custom elearning programs for the public transportation industry.

Online training modules are being developed as part of a training toolkit for rail industry signal maintainers. The computer-based training program will be highly interactive and will be available through APTA’s web site and on CD. Learners who are new to the rail industry will benefit from the self-paced modular approach to learning. The program uses a SCORM and AICC compliant learning management system to measure and manage the program.

“We are very excited to work with APTA and their members, as we help them lead the way in online training in the public transportation sector,” says Ron Thiele, President and CEO of Xpan.
